November 2009 Court rains on festival In this bulletin we look at two issues relating to the provision of entertainment. The first relates to a Land & Environment decision which overuled consent for a music festival in Byron Bay. In the second item we review changes to the Environment Planning and Assessment Act which will make it easier for pubs and similar venues to provide live entertainment.

September 2006 An avenue closes for owner initiated acquisitions Recent changes to the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act 1979 take away an avenue for property owners to force government authorities to acquire land reserved for public purposes. The changes can also potentially reduce the amount of compensation payable for such acquisitions.
