Corporate Social Responsibility

We recognise we have a broader role to play in our community and our people have a long history of giving back in a range of ways including volunteering their time, expertise and funds.

We are committed to providing legal services on a pro bono basis. Pro bono services are provided to selected clients on a best practice basis – meaning that pro bono work is budgeted, separately monitored and provided to the same high standards as full fee-paying work.

We have an active Corporate Social Responsibility Committee, chaired by a senior member of the firm, through which we provide financial support to a number of charities. We also encourage our team to participate in our corporate giving program.

Bartier Perry recently supported a new women's refuge set up in Penrith by Senior Associate, Sharon Levy. In the video below Sharon explains her motivation in setting up this shelter and the myths and conceptions of domestic violence.

"Bartier Perry have been wonderfully supportive toward The Haven, both financially and in other practical ways such as encouraging me to meet with Federal and State Ministers of Parliament during work hours, having professional staff accompany me to Haven events, spreading the word about The Haven on its social media networks and encouraging staff members to do what they can to help us.  Bartier Perry doesn't just talk the talk when it comes to CSR. It answers the call to action in ways that are real and concrete". Sharon Levy

Other community activities have included The Smith Family Christmas Appeal and the Cancer Council’s City Mile Dash, the latter of which saw us raising $22,000 for cancer research in 2016. Bartier Perry is also a signatory for MINDS COUNT (formerly the Tristan Jepson Memorial Foundation).

We are also a Western Sydney University Scholarship donor, pledging $150,000 for 4 scholarships to law students from 2015-2022.  On top of these scholarships we also contribute financially to a scholarship for a refugee student of the University’s choice. Hear below from our Western Sydney University Scholarship recipients regarding their thoughts on Bartier Perry’s culture and the firms focus on the next 75 years.
