Planning law update: what you need to know!

As we approach the mid-year mark, it’s a great time to get an update on some of the key amendments in planning laws and instruments.  Hear from our speakers and engage in the debate.

Topics will include:

  • EPA Act update, what’s the current state of play, what’s likely to change.

  • SEPP update including amendments in relation to:

    • Affordable Rental Housing;

    • Educational Establishments and Childcare Facilities

    • Coastal management

    • Physical commencement

  • Clause 4.6 applications to vary LEP numerical standards.


Presenters 

Michael Neustein – Director, City Planning Works 

Managing the approvals process from regulation to litigation, Michael provides statutory, strategic and compliance advice, prepares SEEs, advises on the optimal use of a site or property, and devises how best to meet local and state approval requirements. An experienced expert witness, he is adept at presenting urban planning/design evidence before the LEC and has served as a court appointed expert.  Michael is a PIA Registered Planner.

Dennis Loether – Partner, Bartier Perry

Dennis is an experienced property, environment and planning lawyer with particular expertise in advising local governments, statutory authorities and private sector clients on all aspects of planning and property related law. He has acted on a wide range of matters within the Land and Environment Court and has advised public and private sector clients in relation to various environmental issues.
