Responsible for managing cyber security awareness, maintaining compliance with ISO27001, and protecting the firm against information security threats. This role also involves onboarding and offboarding security provisioning to ensure seamless transitions without compromising security.

Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and manage our firm's cyber security awareness program, including creating training content, conducting phishing simulations, and leading the Automated Security Awareness Program (ASAP).
- Perform regular Security Awareness Proficiency Assessments (SAPA) and administer Security Culture Surveys (SCS).
- Maintain the Action Register, ensuring the firm's information security actions are tracked and implemented.
- Review and update our firm's policy framework, ensuring alignment with ISO27001 standards.
- Manage Asset and Risk Registers, conducting regular reviews and updates to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Handle ISMS Calendar and committee meetings, ensuring regular maintenance and compliance with security standards.
- Execute Statement of Applicability (SOA) items review/action.
- Implement and oversee Data Leakage Prevention (DLP) strategies, including policy creation and monitoring system usage to prevent unauthorized data exfiltration.
- Review all system access controls, including Active Directory, door security, and cloud applications, to prevent unauthorized access.
- Manage the incident response for data breaches and cyber incidents, conducting post-incident reviews and implementing preventative measures.
About you
Our ideal candidate possesses:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in information security, Computer Science, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., ISO27001 Lead Auditor) preferred.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in information security, with a thorough understanding of ISO27001 standards.
- Expertise in legal industry systems, and experience with onboarding and offboarding security procedures.
- Proven track record of developing and delivering effective cyber security awareness programs.
- The ability to communicate complex security issues to a non-technical audience.

About the team
Sitting within our Commercial Disputes group, Bartier Perry’s Building, Construction & Infrastructure team act for a variety of clients across the private and public sectors, including principals, developers, builders, contractors, consultants, as well as high-net-wealth individuals.
The successful candidate will work across three partners in the team, who have prominent profiles within the building, construction & infrastructure space, and a shared passion for seeing their junior lawyers develop into world-class lawyers.
As an Associate in the team, you will often be responsible for the day to day management of your matters, under appropriate partner supervision, and be involved in all aspects of the file, from liaising with clients, attending court and briefing counsel and experts as necessary.
You will also gain some exposure to front-end matters, and assist with the drafting, review and negotiation of construction contracts and providing commercial project delivery advice.
About you
Our ideal candidate possesses:
- 3-5 years of post-admission experience in building, construction & infrastructure law matters including general building, construction & infrastructure disputes. Candidates with some front end experience will be considered favourably
- Strong knowledge of court, expert determinations and tribunal practice and procedure
- Knowledge of SOPA legislation and experienced with adjudications (both for claimants and respondents)
- Familiarity with standard form building contracts
- Experience working with building experts and report preparation on technical issues
- A commercial and client focused approach;
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management and ability to work to meet deadlines
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team, including providing mentoring to more junior lawyers.

On a day-to-day basis, the role will involve acting for mostly developer clients on a mix of litigation and advice work, including:- Preparation and drafting of Land & Environment Court documents for merits and administrative review proceedings relating to mostly to Class 1, 2, 3 and 4 appeals;
- Appearances in various courts, including the Land & Environment Court;
- Assessing environmental impacts;
- Drafting strategic planning and development advice;
- Participation in ADR processes such as mediations;
- Drafting planning agreements; and
- Undertaking planning and environmental due diligence.
