As a result of this growth, we require a Commercial Disputes – Building and Construction Senior Associate to join our high performing, friendly and innovative team. This role will offer the successful candidate an excellent opportunity for career development with direct mentoring from the Partners in the team. You will work with a dynamic team and be exposed to a variety of commercial disputes matters.
While this role is based in our Sydney CBD office, at Bartier Perry we all have the opportunity to work flexibly and remotely.

Desired Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, candidates must demonstrate previous relevant litigation experience in construction and have proven experience working on a variety of Commercial Dispute cases. The successful candidate will ideally demonstrate the following:

5 years' PQE with a growing following of clients

Knowledge of SOPA legislation in each state and experienced with adjudications (both for claimants and respondents)

Experience with Delay costs disputes and liquidated damages
-
Experience with NCAT home building matters
-
Familiarity with standard form building contracts

Working with building experts and report preparation on technical issues
-
Strong knowledge of court practice and procedure
-
Excellent self-motivation, time management & attention to detail
-
Strong research and troubleshooting techniques
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
