Psychiatric Injury claims are typically complex and difficult to manage; and when they are presented as a claim for lump sum compensation the assessment of WPI is not a straightforward task.  In this seminar, we will provide a legal and medical perspective of the key issues to be addressed when managing such claims.  This will include looking at:

• Assembling evidence;

• Preparation of instructions for IME reports;

• Tools for assessment of permanent impairment; and

• Application of the PIRS criteria.
