Amber Sharp and Jason Sprague will be presenting at the conference on the topic of Modern Slavery.
The introduction of the Modern Slavery Act 2018 (Cth) brings about another raft of compliance and reporting requirements for Australian entities, including universities. Bartier Perry’s speakers will look at the requirements for complying with the new legislation, the impacts it can have on Australian universities, what happens if you breach the Act and strategies for compliance. In particular, Amber Sharp will examine what additional workplace compliance requirements the legislation creates, such as compliance education and training and recognising what ‘modern slavery’ means, while Jason Sprague will look at how the legislation reaches through supply chains and what can be done to manage your supply chains.
