Bartier Perry adds 4 partners from Coleman Greig

Emerging BigLaw firm Bartier Perry has appointed four lateral partners from NSW-based mid-tier firm Coleman Greig, bringing the former’s partnership ranks to 37.

Bartier Perry has hired partners Rebecca Hegarty, Andrew Grima, Shawn Skyring and Nick Kallipolitis, all of whom have come over from Coleman Greig, which has five offices across New South Wales.

As a result of taking the four partners from Coleman Greig, Bartier Perry now has 37 partners in its ranks. The quartet started with the firm this month.

The news follows Bartier Perry’s recent launching of an organisational fraud practice, and its unveiling of a 20-week, gender-neutral, parental leave policy.

It also follows a string of recent appointments of teams at the big end of town. As reported by Lawyers Weekly, K&L Gates took three partners from HWL Ebsworth in December, and then a fourth in January, while Wotton + Kearney added a team from Corrs Chambers Westgarth and then a team from MinterEllison, in mid and late January respectively.

Speaking about the partnership’s newest additions, firm chief executive Riana Steyn said: “Rebecca, Andrew, Shawn and Nick not only bring extensive experience in their respective practice areas but also strong alignment with Bartier Perry from a cultural, professional and client service perspective.”

“Our strategy in recent years has focused on developing clear pathways for internal promotions along with selective lateral hires,” she said.

“These latest appointments continue that approach and given the growth we’re seeing across all our practice areas we’ll be announcing further senior appointments soon.”

Bartier Perry had, Ms Steyn continued, “an incredibly busy 2022”, proclaiming that there are no signs that its workflow will slow down in the new year.

Ms Hegarty said: “As Riana highlighted, there is a strong synergy between us and Bartier Perry in terms of culture, values and client service across many sectors.”

“It’s a really exciting way to start a new year and we’re very much looking forward to creating new opportunities that will arise from us being part of the Bartier Perry team,” she said.
