Bartier Perry has confirmed it has hired two new partners as it looks to build on its commercial and disputes team.

The firm has named Jennifer Shaw and Jason Sprague as the new partners. Both join from Eakin McCaffery Cox.

Ms Shaw brings to her new role experience in acting and advising clients in relation to contract, professional negligence and intellectual property disputes.

Meanwhile, Mr Sprague, who has two decades’ experience, holds expertise in advising start-ups and companies on commercial and IP matters.

“We continue to see strong growth across our practice areas,” said Bartier Perry CEO Riana Steyn, commenting on the new hires.

“Both Jennifer and Jason bring our clients over 40 years combined experience in commercial disputes, IP and M&A but just as importantly they have a strong fit with our firm’s culture and ethos,” she said.

Commenting on her new role at Bartier Perry, Ms Shaw said: “I wanted to work with a firm that had strong leadership and whose culture and ethos aligned with mine – professional and driven, yet down to earth and friendly”.

Mr Sprague noted: “When I was approached by Bartier Perry the feedback from others in the legal market was it is building a strong profile, winning a lot of work and new clients. That’s exciting. The key thing for me though was the culture and a clear vision on where it’s going which is critical in a competitive and fast-changing legal sector”.
