Jamie draws on her diverse experience to provide practical and timely advice to her clients.
Since 2023, Jamie has focused her practice on Insurance law, providing advice to scheme agents and self-insurers in respect of workers compensation and work injury damages claims. She has advised on a broad range of matters, including appeals, judicial reviews, claims for death benefits and high value work injury damages claims.
Jamie started her legal career by assisting injured persons with their claims for workers compensation, work injury damages, motor vehicle accidents, total and permanent disablement, and public liability claims, together with a mixed practice of employment law and criminal law, with frequent court appearances.

Career highlights

Successfully defended a workers compensation claim for psychological injury in reliance of the section 11A(1) reasonable actions defence.

Successfully reducing impairment assessments on appeal to the Medical Appeal Panel, resulting in permanent impairment falling below compensable thresholds.

Investigating and disputing a claim for death benefits made against an incorrect employer, and in doing so, identifying the correct employer so that the deceased’s next of kin could pursue their claim against the liable party.
