Linda has over 15 years’ experience as a workplace relations lawyer. This experience includes roles both in private practice and as an in-house counsel.

Linda is a trusted adviser to corporate and government clients in all workplace matters including in the areas of industrial relations and human resource management, anti-discrimination, terminations and workplace litigation.

Through her experience gained as an in-house counsel, Linda has a strong commercial mindset and understands the important key drivers, strategy and objectives that guide her client’s business and works to leverage this knowledge to achieve the best results for her clients.

A word from Linda

What drew me to workplace law and culture and what continues to motivate me is its focus on the wide array of issues that arise in both individual and collective relationships within the workplace – this area of law is dynamic and constantly evolving! It is immensely rewarding to help my clients navigate these issues and accomplish their objectives whether it be managing a workplace grievance, an industrial dispute or tailoring employment documents to suit their needs.

 

Career highlights

  • Successful negotiation and approval of a multi-enterprise agreement for five affiliated health organisations.

  • Favourable resolution of a number of contentious and highly sensitive matters involving senior management departures and avoiding potential reputational and financial risks for the client.

  • Undertaking a confidential and complex internal investigation of possible corrupt conduct as referred by the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC).

  • Advising and defending a State Government department in successful trial and appeal outcomes, including in a number of significant staff misconduct, dismissal and industrial dispute proceedings, including two Court of Appeal matters.

  • Advising a multi-national company through a major change management process involving confidential risk management assessment and the significant downsizing of its Australian operations.
