Areas of Expertise

Michael heads our Corporate & Commercial Group and advises on a range of commercial transactions. He has a special interest in licensing and distribution, as well as a deep understanding of intellectual property law. This includes providing advice on managing intangible assets and commercialising technology.

The hallmark of Michael’s practice is his ability to establish open and friendly working relationships with his clients. This, in turn, helps him understand what they’re really looking for and lets him guide them to the best outcome.

What Michael’s clients say

“Allegis Group, formerly known as Talent2, has a long standing client relationship with Bartier Perry. During the time the firm has acted for the company, Michael Cossetto and his colleagues have worked hard to attain the status of trusted adviser by providing comprehensive, reliable legal advice, often with short lead times. The firm's members distinguish themselves by their availability, promptness and willingness to go that bit further to provide consistently outstanding service.”

- Jacqueline Naher, Group Legal Counsel, Allegis Group

“I have worked with Michael Cossetto since 2008. Michael has assisted in a number of acquisitions and investment opportunities, commercial disputes, trademark and IP matters. Because he has taken the time to learn the PharmaCare business, all these activities have been undertaken in a very professional and direct manner. He is always available when the phone rings! It has been a great benefit to me personally and to the business generally, that the work Michael produces “hits the mark first time”. It is always the highest quality.”

- Michael Halter, Chief Operating Offer, Pharm-a-Care Laboratories

A word from Michael

"I enjoy ‘getting the deal done’. Whether that’s completing a business transaction in the early hours of the morning because we’re dealing with lawyers in New York, or working out a ‘win-win’ solution to solve a negotiation impasse or legal problem. Understanding the business objectives of our clients, delivering a commercially astute legal solution and helping our clients’ businesses thrive is very satisfying. I love the way that our clients approach things differently. It has taught me that there is not ‘one way’ to solve a problem. Instead, you need to spend the time to find the right way for each client."
