Stranger things - understanding the upside down world of psychosocial hazards in the workplace
Date - 25 March 2026
Venue - Hybrid
1 CPD point / 1 hour
The concept of psychosocial hazards is often misunderstood and over applied. This is particularly the case when it comes to the management of workplace grievances and disciplinary matters.
Quite often business and HR are working in shades of grey. Complainants and respondents to grievance and disciplinary processes will readily assert psychological harm and raise any missteps as causing them injury. One imperfection or misstep in a process is not always a breach of safety.
In managing grievances and disciplinary matters to minimise the risk of a psychosocial harm, there is a need to balance the human side and perception of harm against the legal framework employers operate in to ensure any action taken is appropriate, reasonable and safe management action.
In this seminar, we aim to help businesses understand the legal framework, the psychology behind psychosocial hazards and give you some touch stones to navigate the complexities associated with the management of psychosocial hazards in the workplace.
In a Q&A format, Bartier Perry’s James Mattson and Shawn Skyring together with Dr Melisah Feeney, an organisational psychologist and Principal Consultant at Bendelta, will unpack and simplify the issues and misconceptions of this topical and emerging area confronting workplaces.
This presentation will be available both in person and via livestream.
